Tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium the Houston Dash take on the Portland Thorns and it is also Pride Night and is presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka.  The teams are both coming into to play with losses behind them.  The teams are both hoping to play their best and get a win.  The Dash have 7 points  and Portland Thorns, leading the league, have 26 points.  The Dash and Thorns have met in the preseason game and the Dash team was able to win over the Thorns, scoring 2 goals in the last 10 minute of the game 2-1.  The Dash are looking to score a win here tonight.  The Houston Dash Carli Lloyd and Morgan Brian have been chosen by Jill Ellis, The U.S. Women’s National Team head coach.  They will fill the 18 player roster in the coming 2016 Olympic Games.

The Dash are off to a fine start, in the 7th minute #3 Rachel Daly scored with the assist of Kealia Ohai #7 to put them on the board first.  The Dash in the 21st minute got a corner shot by # 21 Melissa Henderson but to no avail to score from that shot.  In the 26th minute the Dash received a chance for foul kick, which #3 Rachel Daly missed slightly by hitting the bar and hit out.  Due to the heat at tonight’s game, the referee called a cooling break for the players, up to 3 minutes.  In the 39th minute the Portland Thorns #6 Shim was issued a yellow card.  In the 45th minute of the game the Portland Thorns substituted #5 coming off and Kat Williamson for #32 Samantha Lofton coming in.  Because of the cooling break there was 3 minutes added to the 45 minute time.  At half time the Dash 1 and Portland Thorns 0.

The second half in the 46th with the Portland Thorns substitution #27 Maureen Fitzgerald coming off and #29 Shade Pratt coming in.  In the 68th minute the Dash’s #12 Amber Brooks scored the second goal for the Dash with the assistance of #4 Rebecca Moros.  In the 70th minute the referee called another cooling break for the teams, up to three minutes, added time will be added to the end of the 90th minute of the game.  The referee for tonight’s game is Danielle Chesky. In the 70th minute Dash made a substitution #21 Melissa Henderson off and #22 Stephanie Ochs is on.  In the 79th minute the Dash made substitution #9 Choioma Ubogagu coming off and #25 Megan Crosson coming on.  There was a yellow card issued to the Portland Thorns to #21 Hayley Raso. The second yellow card issued to the Portland Thorns tonight.  In the 83rd minute #7 Kealia Ohai scored another goal for the Dash, making the score 3 and the Thorns 0.  In the 84th minute of the game the Dash made another substitution #13 Denise O’Sullivan coming off and #27 Caity Heap coming in.  In the 87th minute #22 Jennifer Skogerboe coming off and #20 Mckenzie Berryhill coming in for the Portland Thorns.

The final score for the game Houston Dash 3 and Portland Thorns 0.  The player of the game tonight is #7 Kealia Ohai.  The attendance for Pride Night was 5,661.
