Sept. 20, 2015 Skeeters vs Camden Riversharks

Today at Sugar Land Constellation Field is Fan Appreciation Day.  It is a day to thank all the fans for the loyalty and give  thanks to the host families.
The Camden Riversharks were not able to score in the first inning, even though they had #47 Zach MacPhee walked and had a stolen base, he was left on base.  The Skeeters did not get any runs in the first inning.
The game has been evenly matched through the first four innings.  The Skeeters in the fifth have two men on base with no outs.  Denny Osuna walked and he also stole second base.  Amadeo got on base, but Denny Almonte was thrown out at home, so still no score.  Two men were left on base this inning, still scoreless for both teams.
The Skeeters switched pitchers at the top of the 7th inning, #10 James Parr will be pitching.  The Camden team were not able to score, 3 up 3 down for them.  The Camden Riversharks did change pitchers, #8 Michael Click to pitch.  The Skeeters were unable to score also in this inning.
The Skeeters changed pitchers to bring in #19 Cory VanAllen to pitch starting the 8th inning.  There was a little excitement when #11 Eric Frain tried to steal second and was got in what we call “THE HOT BOX” and was out to retire the side.  So far the Camden Riversharks have had 5 hits in the game with no runs coming in.  The Skeeters have had only 2 hits and also no runs through 7 innings. The Skeeters changed pitchers at the top of the 9th inning, #12 Robbing Weinhardt.
The Camden Riversharks #10 Paddy Matera singled to get on base.  Michael Rockett #2 was hit by a pitch but there was a disagreement between the head coach of the Riversharks and the Umpires weather it hit him or the bat.  He had to continue to finish batting, the decision of the Umpires were he did not get hit and would not have a walk. He did flied out to RF, caught by Kevin Russo.
The bottom of the 9th still scoreless for both teams the Camden Riversharks have brought in a new pitcher #26 Zach Braddock.  Skeeters started with Travis getting walked, Chris Wallace singled but ended up getting Travis Scott out on second.  Johan Limonta popped out.  Patrick Palmeiro is the next batter up, fans hoping he can come through for the Skeeters in the bottom of the 9th.  Patrick was walked and the next batter for the Skeeters is #17 Denny Almonte with two men on base and two outs. The Skeeters win the last game by Denny with a walk off strike out with a wild pitch which was enough to let Chris Wallace score the winning run from 2nd base.  The first baseman was overthrown which allowed this spectacular last win of the 2015 season for the Skeeters.
The final score was Skeeters 1 and Camden Riversharks 0.  Farewell ’till Skeeters next 2016 season.
