Sept.18, 2015 Skeeters vs. Camden Riversharks

Tonight the Skeeters had a special guest throw the ceremonial pitch, NBA’s Houston Rockets, Dwight Howard.
Tonight is a very special night for the Skeeters, Patrick Palmeiro and his father, Rafael Palmeiro will play on the same team.  Rafael Palmeiro played professionally for the Baltimore Orioles,  Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, and was a Four-Time All-Star.  The first baseman won three-straight Gold Gloves from 1997-99 with the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles. He is one of five players w/3,000 hits and 500 Home Run.
The Skeeters pitcher, #32 Jose Geer, struck out the side. The Skeeters scored one run when #25 Johan Limonta hit a single RBI to score Patrick Palmeiro at the bottom of the first inning.  The Camden’s #1 Daniel Rockett hit an RBI home run to score #38 Mat Gamel to put the Camden Rivershark ahead 2-1. Skeeters were not able to score, left two men on base.  In the third inning the Skeeters caught #47 Zach MacPhee stealing at first for out #1.   Evan Crawford reached first base due to bad throw by #6 Patrick.  Skeeters pitcher Josh Geer was able to strike out #3 Carlos Guzman for third out with one man left on base.  It was a scoreless inning in the 3rd for the Skeeters.  At the top of the 4th inning Skeeter’s pitcher, Josh Geer struck out the side for no runs. Bottom of the 4th Kevino Russo walked on balls, stealing second on a wild pitch by Camden’s #15 Jeff Singer. Travis Scott walked on balls and by another wild pitch Kevin Russ advance into scoring position at third with no outs. On an error by Camden’s second baseman Amadeo Zazueta singled and Kevin Russon scored a run to tie the game 2-2. Camden’s pitcher walked Jeff Dominguez to load the bases.  Patrick Palmeiro came up to the plate and hit  a Grand Slam Home Run, scoring Travis Scott, Amadeo Zazueta,  and Jeff Dominguez.  The next batter Rafael Palmeiro, father of Patrick, hit a single over second base with one out in the inning.  This turned out to be an excellent inning scoring 7 runs.
The Riversharks were held to no runs top of the 5th inning.  The Skeeters came in hot again, Patrick Palmeiro had an RBI double to bring in Jeff Dominguez.  Rafael Palmeiro hit a single to LF .  Johan Limonta had a single RBI to bring to score, Patrick Palmeiro. The Camden Riversharks will switch pitchers with #18 Carlos Ruiz in the middle of the 5th inning. Kevin Russo walked by #18 Carlos Ruiz to load the bases.  Travis Scott batting with two outs and full count, finally struck out to end the inning leaving two stranded.
The 6th inning was scoreless with no runs for either team.  The top of the 7th inning #44 Zach MacPhee hit a double RBI to score #34 Mike Kearns to make it 3 -10.  The Skeeters left one man stranded and no runs.  Skeeters changed pitchers at the top of 8th inning, #10 James Parr.  The Camden Riversharks # 3 Carlos Guzman hit a double RBI to score #9 Brandon Chaves for a run.  The Skeeters were scoreless, no runs.  Another pitching change for the Skeeters, # 12 Robbie Weinhardt  in the top of the 9th came in strong.  He retired the side with no problem all three batters for Camden Riversharks struck out to end the game.  Camden had 4 runs, 8 hits, 3 errors and the Skeeters had 10 runs, 13 hits and 1 error.  The final score for the night was Skeeters 10 and Camden Riversharks 4.
