Today the Houston Dynamo with play against FC Dallas at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo are in need of a win to get some points, they are below the red line in the Western Conference. They had a draw on Wednesday night against the Seattle Sounders FC, so Dynamo really need a win tonight. The also want a win to capture the Texas Derby tournament to regain “El Capitan” which they have not held since 2012.
The first half with both teams battling for control of the ball, but it was not long before the Dynamo got in gear and scored the first goal in the 19th minute by #14 Alex with the assistance of #27 Boniek Garcia. The Dynamo have had four corner kicks in the first half and the FC Dallas have had only one. The Dynamo had to make their first substitution in the 41st minute of the game due to an injury to #4 Agus having to be sidelined, and #18 David Horst coming in to the game. There was an extra three minutes added to the first half, which ended with the score Dynamo 1 and FC Dallas 0.
In the second half, the 55th minute FC Dallas substituted #13 Tesho Akindele for #77 Mauro Rosales. There was a handball penalty against Dynamo’s #5 Raul Rodriguez which resulted in a penalty score for the FC Dallas by #10 Mauro Diaz in the 59th minute. Just following the penalty kick the FC Dallas scored immediately in the 60th minute by #21 Michael Barrios with assistance of #31 Maynor Figueroa, making the score FC Dallas 2 and Dynamo 1. In the 64th minute Dynamo made another substitution #13 Ricardo Clark coming for #6 Erick Alexander. The momentum has changed in the second half, the FC Dallas have come out charging. The Dynamo have to pick up their defense if they expect to have any chance in winning the Texas Derby. In the 72nd minute the FC Dallas substituted #8 Victor Ulloa for # 37 Maximilliano Urruti. In the 73rd minute #9 Erick Torres coming in for #26 Collen Warner. In the 79th minute FC Dallas #21 Barrios scored once again with assistance from #13 Tesho Akindele, making the score FC Dallas 3 and Dynamo 1. FC Dallas making their last substitution of the night #12 Ryan Hollingshead coming in for #21 Michael Barrios, but not before scoring 2 goals for FC Dallas. There was an added four minutes to the second half. There was a yellow card issued to the Dynamo’s #9 Erick Torres and also a yellow card was issued to #14 Atiba Harris.
The Dynamo did not get “El Capitan” tonight, they fell to FC Dallas, with the final score, FC Dallas 3 and Dynamo 1. The attendance for tonight’s game was 18,769.
