DASH VS WASHINGTON SPIRIT

Today at BBVA Compass Stadium, the Houston Dash will take on the Washington Spirit, this game was postponed May 27, 2016, due to inclement weather at that time the game was rescheduled.  Houston Dash, Kealia Ohai has been doing so well, especially the two-goals she had against the 3-3 draw against Western New York on July 30, she was voted the NWSL Player of the Week.  Kealia Ohai is the third member of the Dash team to win this award this season.  The other team members of the Dash are rookie Rachel Daly and Chioma Ubogagu.  Ohai has scored a total of three goals and assisted with one.  If she gets one more goal, she will match her career high.

The first half of the game has been pretty much even for both sides.  In the 31st minute a penalty kick was given to the Washington Spirit, which was from a foul on Dash player #23 Cami Privett.  The penalty kick was good by #7 Christine Naim and the Washington Spirit were on the board 1 – 0 in the first half.  There was a three minutes added to the first half due to a player being down in the first half.

In the second half there was two substitution for the Dash in the 57th minute, #21 Melissa Henderson coming off and #22 Stephanie Ochs coming in and #27 Caity Heap coming out and #19 Tessa Florio-Gavisky coming in.  The Dash are still scoreless in the second half.  In the 63rd minute Washington Spirit’s, #7 Christine Nairm scored another goal, making it 2-0.  In the 65th minute Washington Spirit made a substitution #20 Cheyna Williams coming out and # 14 Francisca Ordega coming in.  Another substitution for the Spirit, #12 Katie Stengel coming off and # 22 Alyssa Kleiner coming in.  In the 84th minute the Spirit made their final substitution #17 Cali Farquharson coming out and #27 Line Jensen coming in. In the 89th minute #7 Kealia Ohai scored a goal with the assistance of #22 Stephanie Ochs.  The score Houston Dash 1 and the Washington Spirit 2.  There was 3 minutes added to the end of the 90 minute period but the Houston Dash could not add any more points to the score.

The final score  was Houston Dash 1 and the Washington Spirit 2.  The player of the match was #7 Kealia Ohai, captain of the Dash.  The attendance for tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium was 5,012.
