HOUSTON DYNAMO VS FC DALLAS

Today the Houston Dynamo (7-6-5; 26 pts) will host FC Dallas (11-3-5; 38 pts.) at BBVA Compass Stadium.  FC Dallas is in first place and the game tonight will be the first of three this season, kicking off the 2018 edition of the Texas Derby.  The winner of the Derby goes El Capitan, it has been home for the last two years in Houston.

FC Dallas didn’t waste much time tonight, within the first minute they scored the first goal.  Dynamo will have to be on their best game tonight to keep up with the first place team.  Dynamo did come back in the eighth minute to tie the game with a goal from #9 Manotas and assistance from #31 Quioto.  The goal was Manotas 10th goal of the year, and his 34th overall, which ties Club History.  The first half has been a battle for the ball, both sides have been very aggressive.  FC Dallas’ #11 Santiago Mosquera has been taken off the field by stretcher.  FC Dallas has a substitution for Mosquera in the 24th minute of the game,  #13 Tesho Akindele .  It has been a rough first half for both teams, both defending well for no more points in this half.  The score at the end of the first half Dynamo 1 and FC Dallas 1.

The start of the second half started again with both teams in aggressive mode.  It is clear both teams want a win tonight.  The Dynamo was given a penalty against #3 Adolfo Machado, which gave FC Dallas a penalty kick inside the box.  The kick was blocked by Dynamo’s goalie #23 Joe Willis.   Dynamo scored a goal by Manotas and assisted by Beasley in the 61st minute but was recalled by Referee indicating Manotas was offside, the score remains tied.  In the 74th minute both teams made substitutions, Dynamo’s #8 Rodriguez in for #31 Quioto and for FC Dallas #23 Acosta in for #21 Barrios, this is second substitution for both teams.  FC Dallas made their final substitution #12 Hollingshead in for #20 Lamah.  Final substitution for Dynamo in the 88th minute, #13 Gil in for #10 Martinez.  There was six minute of stoppage time for the game and still a tie game.

The Dynamo 1 and FC Dallas 1, for a Draw in tonight’s game.  The attendance for tonight’s game was 19,295.
