The Houston Sabercats, at Constellation Field, will be a very special time, First Responders around the county are being honored tonight. The PHI Air Medical helicopter will be landing in the middle of the field for the presentation of the Game Ball. The PHI Air Medical ambulance safely transports more than 30,000 patients each year and operates out of more then 73 bases across the United States. The crew to this special ambulance are dedicated pilots, nurses and communications specialists, they are professionals and compassionate to their jobs and go beyond the call of duty to make sure lives are taken to safety and cared for. The National Anthem is being sung by the award-winning Spartans Robotics Team from Stafford High School.
The Houston Sabercats will host the New York Athletic Club. The Sabercats are ????. The New York Altheltic Club scored 3 points on a penalty kick. The Sabercats rallied back to score 5 points by #10 Sam Windsor then the 2 point conversion by #15 Zack Pangelinan. Zack Pangelinan scored 5 pts and the 2 points conversion to put the Sabercats up 14 and the Athletic Club 3. The Sabercats were able to connect again by #9 Connor Murphey for 5 points and the 2 point conversion by #15 Zach. The play the Athletic Club scored and also made the 2 point conversion to make it 10 points total. The score Sabercats 21 and Althletic Club 10. The Sabercats on fire the next play #13 Osea Kolinisau made a break for it and just before he reached the end zone he passed to #11 Josua Vici to score the 5 points. The Athletic Club scored 5 points and the 2 point conversion by #10 Harry Bennett. The next play the Sabercats had a break away by #11 Josua Vici to put 5 more points on the board with #9 Connor Murphey making the 2 point conversion in the 36 minute of the game. The score Sabers 33 and New York Athletic Club 17 at the half.
The Sabercats have really played hard to keep the New York from scoring in the second half, both teams have made mistakes and dropped a couple of balls as they were running to score. The Sabercats were able to put 3 more points on the scoreboard to make the score 36 to New York’s 24. The New York Athletic Club managed to score to get closer to the Sabercats in the 72nd minute of the game. Seamus Kelly #13 scored 5 points and #10 Captain Harry Bennett scored the 2 point conversion to make it 31 points. The Sabercats are in the lead by only 5, if they want to control the game, they must put more points on the board for extra cushion. The Athletic Club managed to score 5 points by #2 and the 2 point conversion by #10, making the score even closer with 2 minutes left in the game. Final score Sabercats 39 and Athletic Club 38.
