Today at BBVA Compass Stadium is a special night, it is the anniversary of the stadium 5 years, May 12, 2012, when the Dynamo beat the D.C. United on this day, score 1-0. Brad Davis made the winning goal for the Dynamo. Brad will be on hand for the celebration, he will take part in the ceremonial First Kick, it will be like when his fellow team mate Brian Ching did on Opening Day, May 12, 2012. Tonight the Dynamo will try to keep the undefeated streak going. The National Anthem was song by the North Shore Middle School Choir on Star Wars Night. The CEO Mark Montgomery fired El Capitan to get the game started.
The Dynamo team started very aggressive, attempting a shot early in the first minutes of the game. The game has started very physical, both teams want a win tonight, but more so for the Dynamo, so the undefeated streak keeps going at home, especially on the 5th anniversary of BBVA Compass Stadium. In the 14th minute of the game the Dynamo scored a goal by #17 Alberth Elis with assist by #12 Romell Quioto to put the Dynamo in the lead 1-0. Alberth Elis came out of the game with a right leg strain in the 32nd minute, #9 Erick Torres came in to replace him. The Dynamo’s #3 Adolfo Machado was issued a yellow card. A yellow card was issued to Vancouver’s #15 Matias Laba in the 39th minute. The first half shows to be a very physical game by both teams. Due to some injuries there was 3 minutes added to the first half.
The second half began with both teams playing strong, still very physical like the first half. The Dynamo are having trouble with some fouls maybe not called correctly by the referee. There was a substitution made by the Dynamo team #12 Quioto coming out of the game and replaced by #11 Wenger. There was a substitution made by the Whitecaps, #16 Tchani coming out of the game and #67 Davies coming into the game. In the 66th minute Vancouver received a yellow card on #4 Watson (c), inside the penalty box, which gave Dynamo a penalty kick, taken by #9 Erick Torres and scored a goal to put the Dynamo up 2 and Vancouver 0. Another substitution made by the Whitecaps, #13 coming out of the game and #20 Shea coming into the game. In the 80th minute Dynamo substituted #19 Mauro Manotas out, for #18 Memo Rodriguez to come into the game. In the 80th minute Vancouver’s #20 Brek Shea scored a goal with assist of #7 Christian Bolanos to make the score Dynamo 2 and Whitecaps 1. There was three minutes added to the end of 90 minutes, with the score still Dynamo 2 and Vancouver Whitecaps 1. In the extra minutes of the game A. J. Delagarza was issued a yellow card.
The great news, Dynamo remain victorious at home, with the score Dynamo 2 and Vancouver Whitecaps 1. The Man of the Match was #14 Alex. The attendance for the Star Wars Night and 5th Anniversary of BBVA Compass Stadium was 16,075.
