Today the Houston Dynamo return home to take on the Orlando City SC at BBVA Compass Stadium. The news for tonight is that Erick “Cubo” Torres will miss his first match due to a protocol concussion. The Dynamo are 4-0-1 a t home and the Dynamo have been able to outscore their opponents 13-5. Their opponents today, Orlando City SC are not going to be easy to beat. The Dynamo will have to be on their best offensive and defensive mode tonight. Orlando is 6-2-0 in their division and also have a 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year, Kaka. Also, Giles Barnes former Dynamo player, returns to the stadium after a trade last summer. Barnes spent four and half years with the Dynamo and ranks fourth on the club’s all-time scoring list with 31 regular-season goals. The Dynamo are looking to keep their winning streak at home. The next game played by the Dynamo will mark their fifth anniversary of the opening of BBVA Compass Stadium, May 12th, 2012.
Early in the 1st half, Dynamo’s #6 Erik Alexander came out in the 9th minute of the game due to an injury, #13 Ricardo Clark came in to replace him. There was a penalty made by the Orlando City inside the box in the 11th minute, so the Dynamo had a chance to put a point on the board, but was missed by #19 M. Manotas, the kick went wide left. In the 24th minute #17 Alberth Elis scored Dynamo’s first goal with assist of A. Delagarza. In extra time of the first half, Dynamo’s, #12 R. Quioto was issued a yellow card for not retreating. The score in the first half, Dynamo 1 and Orlando City SC 0.
The beginning of the second half, the Dynamo’s #19 M. Manotas, scored a goal in the 51st minute, giving the Dynamo the lead. Dynamo 2 and Orlando 0. In the 57th minute a substitution for Orlando was #14 Giles Barnes came out and #11 Carlos Rivas into the game. A yellow card was issued to the Dynamo in the 60th minute to #20 A.J. Delagarza for persistent infringement. Scoring for the Dynamo, #19 M. Manotas, with assist of #12 Quioto and Alex in the 65th minute of the game. In the 70th minute Orlando made a substitution #8 Johnson coming out of game and #7 Higuita coming in. The Dynamo also made a substitution #14 A. Lima coming out of game and # 27 B. Garcia coming in. The Dynamo are on a roll, #12 R. Quioto scored another goal, with the assist of M. Manotas, to make the score 4 and Orlando 0. Dynamo had #12 R. Quioto come off and #10 V. Sanchez come into the game. Orlando’s #25 Toia was issued a yellow card in the 78th minute for persistent infringement. The Dynamo are playing so strong, Orlando is having trouble controlling the ball, it is also causing them to make mistakes, such as getting a yellow card. A yellow card was issued to Dynamo’s #3 A. Machado for a foul. Tonight’s game shows to be very physial by both teams.
