HOUSTON DASH VS WNY FLASH

Tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium, the Houston Dash take on the Western New York Flash.  The Houston Dash are coming in with draw from last Saturday when Rachel Daly secured the first point on the road for Houston since May 7.  This is the first meeting in the regular season between the Dash and the WNY Flash.  The Flash is in third place through 14 games this season.  The Olympic Games begin in a week and the Houston Dash will have seven players participating in the Olympic Games, this is the most out of any NWSL club.  Morgan Brian and Carlie Lloyd will represent the United States.  The players representing Canada will be Janine Beckie and Allysha Chapman.  Australia will be represented by Lydia Williams.  The girls representing the host nation will be Andressa and Poliana.

The Flash scored in the third minute by #10 Lianne Sanderson with an assist from #9 Lynn Williams.   The Dash’s #3 Rachel Daly had a chance for penalty kick, but was unsuccessful.  The Dash’s #3 Rachel Daly, scored a goal in the 31st minute to tie the game 1-1 in the first half.  Due to the temperature on the field, the  referee called a cooling break, which will be added to the end of the 45th minute of the half.  The sideline judge showed that there will be added time of 4 minutes to the first half.

In the second half, the Dash scored in the 47th minute, #7 Kealia Ohai.  In the 63rd minute #7 Kealia Ohai scored another goal with the assist of #22 Stephanie Ochs, making the score Dash 3 and Flash 1.  The Dash have really come alive in the second half.   In the 70th minute the Flash scored a goal by #14 Jessica McDonald.  In the 71st minute there was two substitutions for the Flash, coming in was #20 Janice Cayman for #3 Makenzy Doniak and #2 Michaela Hahn for #4 Elizabeth Eddy.  In the 75th minute the referee called a cooling break due to the heat.  In the 76th minute the Dash made a substitution #19 Tessa Florio-Gavilsky for #21 Melissa Henderson.   In the 83rd minute the Flash made their last substitution #17 Kristen Hamilton for #10 Lianne Sanderson.  In the 86th minute of the game the Dash made a substitution #27 Caity Heap for #13 Denise O’Sullivan.  In the 88th minute Dash made their last substitution #25 Megan Crosson for #22 Stephanie Ochs.  The score is Dash 3 and Flash 2 in the 88th minute.  In the 89th minute the Dash was issued a yellow card to #27 Caity Heap.  The fourth official on the sideline has indicated there will be 5 minutes added to the end of the 90th minute.  The Flash scored a goal in extra time by #9 Lynn Williams #14 Jessica McDonald, making the scored tied Dash 3 and Flash 3.  A yellow card was issued in extra time to the Flash #13 Abby Dahikemper.

The final score was Dash 3 and Flash 3.   The player of the match was #7 Kealia Ohai with two goals for the night.   The attendance for tonight’s game was 4,329.
