DYNAMO VS SPORTING KANSAS CITY

Today the Dynamo take on their rivals, Sporting KC at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.  The Dynamo’s are trying to come back after losing last week to Real Salt Lake 2-1.  Tonight is also the night that former captain of the Dynamo’s, Brad Davis comes to BBVA Compass stadium not as a Dynamo but as a player for Sporting Kansas City since leaving in January.  It should be an interesting game with both rivals coming in with losses behind them.  Dynamo and the Sporting Kansas City are looking for their first win tonight.

The first 4 minutes of the game the Sporting KC came out attacking the ball, but Dynamo were not going to allow KC to score, they were able to kick it to KC side, even when KC was given a chance to score with a penalty kick.  It looks like it is going to be a very aggressive game by the way both teams are coming on to one another.  As the first half progresses, the fans can see that both teams want to score first, especially because they have a previous team member of the Dynamo, Brad Davis.  The Dynamo definitely want to score first being it’s their home turf. In the 28th minute, Dynamo’s #14 Alex, was issued a yellow card for a foul.   In the 29th minute Dynamo’s #10 Giles Barnes scored the first goal.  This was the third goal of the season for him.   In the extra minute of stoppage time, the Dynamo managed to score one more time before the first half ended by Dynamo’s #11 Andrew Wenger, making the score for the end of the first half Dynamo 2 and Sporting KC 0.

The fans,  anxious for the second half to start.  The first half was a physical contact game.  Fans booing at the referees  when they felt a bad call was made against the Dynamo or maybe a foul should have been called.  In the 52nd minute a yellow card was issued against the Dynamo’s #2 Jalil Anibaba, off the ball foul, which gave the Sporting KC a free shot at a goal, but failed.  In the 56th minute there was a substitution for the Dynamo, #9 Erick Torres coming off and #12 Will Bruin coming into the game. In the 61st minute Sporting KC substituted #7 Chance Myers coming off with #94 Jimmy Medranda coming on.  There was two substitutions in the 66th minute by both teams, Dynamo’s # 7 DeMarcus Beasley came off and # 20 Abdoulie Mansally came in, on the Sporting KC #11 Brad Davis came out and # 9 Diego Rubio came in for KC.  The Dynamo is making another substitution in the 75th minute of the game #33 Leonel Miranda coming into the game for #8 Cristian Maidana.  Sporting KC is had a substitution in the 77th minute #8 Graham Zusi coming off the game and #17 Saad Abdul-Salaam coming into the game.  A penalty kick for KC in the 78th minute was blocked by the Dynamo so no score for KC in the second half so far.  The score still remains Dynamo 2 and Sporting KC 0.  Although the score shows Dynamo up, KC has not given up the ball much the second half.  The ball has been on the KC side for most of the half.  The fans showed their disappointment by booing, after the side referee showed a stoppage time of 5 minutes.  I believe the fans felt that was too much time.  As many times the KC was at the Dynamo side they failed to score, the Dynamo did not allow KC any goals.   The final score Dynamo 2 and Sporting Kansas City 0.  The man of the match was #10 Giles Barnes.  The next game for the Dynamo with be May 14, 2016 at BBVA Compass Stadium against Real Salt Lake.
