CONCACAF WOMEN’S OLYMPIC QUALIFIERS 2016

The second game of a double header at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas, where Canada takes on Guyana.
The first half Canada dominated the game.  The team was full of energy, Canada did not allow the Guyana team to score.  Canada came out striking right away, but the Guyana’s goalie was ready.  The Guyana team was just not on their game tonight, with Canada keeping the ball on their side.  The time the Guyana team tired to take away the ball, Canada was always able to get the ball back.

In the 26th minute with a corner kick from #12 Christine Sinclair, #6 Deanne Rose scored the first goal of the game with the assistance of #13 Sophie Schmidt.  In the 27th minute, #10 Ashley Lawrence for Canada scored another goal, this also started with a corner kick from #12 Christine Sinclair. Canada scored again before the half ended in the 39th minute again by #6 Deanne Rose, assisted once again by #13 Sophie Schmidt. This ended the half with Canada 3 and Guyana 0.

Starting the second half, Canada did not lose any momentum, they came out scoring right away by Canada’s #10 Ashley Lawrence.  It did not take Canada long to score again.  Once again #10 Ashley Lawrence scored with the assistance of #12 Christine Sinclair.  The substitution started midway through the game for both teams.  Both teams substituted 3 off and 3 on.  Did not change the tempo of the game Canada still continued to dominate over Guyana with the final score:  Canada 5 and Guyana 0.  The player of the match for tonight’s game was Canada’s #10 Ashley Lawrence scoring 3 of the 5 goals of the night.
