Skeeters vs Bridgeport Bluefish

Sunday game Skeeters vs. Bridgeport Bluefish, last game of series, GO SKEETERS!!!  It is a very hot day but we are hoping the Skeeters can give us another WIN.  The first inning was fast for Bluefish, 3 up 3 down no score.  The Skeeters started a small ralley, but unsuccessful, left two men on. Willy Taveras got on base on balls, Delwyn Young got a single hit.
Second inning #6 Patrick Palmeiro hit a HR with an RBI to bring in #5 Kevin Russo which to put the Skeeters on the board with 2 runs.  Willy Taveras #11 batted a line drive down third base to get a double.  Jeff Dominguez had a hit to center field which was caught for the third out to close the 2nd inning.
The Bluefish managed to score on an RBI by # 24 Bryan Sabatella, #4 Matt Wessinger scored in the 3rd inning. The Skeeters had no runs.
The fourth inning Bluefish really started hitting, and earned 3 runs.  Skeeters came up short, no runs.
The Skeeters brought in #19 Cory Van Allen to pitch in the middle of the 6th inning. The Bluefish left two men on base. The bottom on the 6th inning as the Skeeters were getting ready to bat, we got a rain storm with lightening, which caused a rain delay. We have been under rain delay for 1 hour 30 minutes.
Game started at 9:00 pm, where the Bluefish got 4 runs in the 7th inning. The Skeeters were unable to score, until the 9th inning trying to come back from behind. The final score was Bluefish 8, Skeeters 6.  It was a great effort by our Skeeters. The series ended Skeeters 5 and Bluefish 2. The Skeeters will be on the road for the next week.
