It was a great weekend for racing here in Houston Texas. On Saturday morning qualifying was very close between number 14 Takuma Sato of AJ Foyt racing and number 77 Simon Pagenaud of Schmidt Peterson Hamilton Motorsports. Pictured below.
But as luck would have it Simon Pagenaud would come out on top getting his first pole ever in the Indy car Series just edging out Takuma Sato.
But luck would not be on Simon Pagenaud side as the race went on his car did not handle well in the rain would come in 16th place after leading for only laps. As the day goes on and the rain kept falling. The number 18 Carlos Huertas of Dale Coyne racing would get his 1st Indy car win even after starting in 19th place.
